Villa Vignamaggio

We spent a LOT of time vetting different hotels, resorts and B and Bs throughout all of Chianti and were so glad we found the Casolese at Vignamaggio. The grounds were beautiful, the infinity pool was perfection, breakfast and dinner were delicious and had wonderful home-made options... it was a perfect stay. We enjoyed walking around the olive groves and really appreciates the team’s upgrade the gave us to a one-bedroom suite to help us celebrate our honeymoon. They were very helpful prior to the stay and provided great info on surrounding vineyards, the bikes on property and everything really. Wine in-room and coffee/tea was included. Staff was fantastic and we will be back! Sunset was killer - make sure you plan to be there for that. :)

For our last Tasting and Luncheon, we were driven here. (It's rather hilly, so it you need something for your tummy, do it!) The ride was about 45 minutes from our Villa. The Wine Tour was excellent. The Guide was very personable and knew a great deal! The Winery is impressive - it's quite huge and it's obvious they've done this for a long while. (We were most excited that Mona Lisa's family either lived or visited here back in the day and Leonardo surely came here to visit her!) The grounds are lovely and there are several rooms available for weddings and such. The food was quite delightful and would definitely make the event! The staff was so professional too. There is a nice pool and tennis courts, as well. This was our best Tasting and we would highly recommend going here. (It would be fab to have stayed here!)

Our family stayed with another family in Case all’ Orto which is a beautifully restored villa some 2-3Kms from the main reception/lodging area. Both families have 2 adults and 3 children and it had plenty of room. It was very private and stylishly appointed (modern with a creative flair) throughout. The gardens were amazing and we loved our stay. One particular comment I want to make is to commend Davide who organised a package to be sent to Australia when my daughter left some personal belongings behind in her room. Davide went out of his way to ensure we got the package. Thx Vignamaggio for making our stay in the Chianto region so memorable. A beatiful part of the world.
