Il Piastrino

We spent a few days between Cerreto and Vinci, and, on the advice of friends, we went to dinner at Il Piastrino. Enchanting place immersed in olive groves and stunning hills. Meat-based menu obviously, masterfully grilled by Mrs. Daniela. The wine produced on the farm is excellent, and we were pleasantly surprised by the bill at the end as well. We looked at each other and without hesitation we booked for the following day. It was a pleasant confirmation. Farmhouse near the birthplace of Leonardo Da Vinci. Immersed in the Tuscan countryside. Friendly staff, but almost totally absent in structure. The pool area is small and poorly equipped for the number of people in the structure. Breakfast only sweet (good, average) for the salty part there was a surcharge. During the booking be careful if I propose the b&b rooms because they are totally moved from the main structure. It takes at least 5 minutes on foot uphill (and in the evening it is not lit) otherwise you have to move with the car. In the bathroom the towel rail was broken, there was no hook to hang them and there was no knowing where to put them. We tried their restaurant one night, average. We recommend paying immediately at the end of dinner and not at check out to avoid surprises.

It's the second time we've spent a holiday at the Piastrino. The place is a charm, the rooms are nice and nicely decorated, the view is postcard, the food is excellent. It is a pleasure to sit at the table and enjoy a wide choice of typical Tuscan dishes, made to satisfy even the most demanding palates. The soul of all this is Daniela, the owner, always present, always ready to pamper customers to make the stay a fairy tale to remember. Good Daniela and all the staff. I can't wait to get back.
