Hotel Rex

I stayed at this property for 7 nights. After the third night, I woke up with itchy bites on my legs. At first, I did not think they were bedbug bites, so I did not report them to management at that time. After the sixth night, I experienced another occurrence of itchy bites, bringing the total to approximately 40 bites over the two nights. The appearance and pattern was consistent with what bedbug bites can look like. I reported the matter to management at that point. Management told me that housekeeping had checked the room but had not found anything. I was therefore told that there was no issue and no further action was taken. As we only had one night remaining, I decided not to pursue the matter further during our stay. Given the response to my complaint, I did not feel that my concerns were being taken seriously. No assistance or refund was offered. I have since reported the matter to Booking.com. I cannot confirm with certainty what caused the bites, as I did not personally see any bedbugs. However, experiencing approximately 40 itchy bites after two separate nights, with their appearance and pattern being consistent with bedbug bites, was extremely concerning. I was also disappointed with how my complaint was handled and am sharing my experience so that other travelers can make an informed decision.

From August 30 to September 3, 4 adults + 2 children. We had 2 rooms with a balcony and a sea view, spectacular! The sea is also truly beautiful, even if it lacks an area that is more easily accessible for children (my grandchildren are 5 and 7 years old), but perhaps this way they learned to move better in the water, with a mask and fins. Everyone is kind and the service is discreet. The option to help oneself to coffee/tea and herbal teas in the lobby lounge is highly appreciated. Will return. Massimo B. -Padua
