Hotel Select

Completely old hotel with rooms that remind one of a hospital. The surcharge for a "sea view room" is a total rip-off. Only a side view of the parking lot and a strip of blue sea in the distance! Food is not fresh and resembles a cafeteria. Never again such an outdated dive!

I don't like writing negative reviews but this time it is really not possible for me to avoid it. We spent 4 nights, from August 23 to 27, in room 208 (2nd floor, balcony with view on the opposite side of the pool) at a cost of about € 260.00 per night, breakfast included. As soon as I entered the hotel I was amazed at the sight of large spaces, similar to "big rooms," furnished in a minimal but cold style and without personality (I would add........ "just to put something in it"). The worst part, however, I saw when I entered the room....... on the walls, only the cables for the multiparameter monitors were missing and I would have felt like I was in a hospital room. Some friends, seeing the photo, asked me which ward I was in! I won't dwell on the noises coming from outside at 1 AM and 4 AM (approximate times) when they come by to collect the glass (?) and clean the street (?)...... in the middle of sleep it was difficult for me to understand what it was. The much-dreamed-of sound of the sea, despite being very close, remains only a "dream". Upon waking, a fantastic breakfast (just to be ironic) awaits you in a company cafeteria, but if you decide to eat it on the veranda, the view is definitely better, but the white plastic chairs and tables are very sad. A few last words to describe the atmosphere around the pool: screaming, balls being thrown, and "splash everyone" dives. A few simple rules would be enough... today more than ever necessary! Nothing to say about the cleanliness of the room and the kindness of the reception staff. The worst 4-star hotel I have ever seen, whose price cannot be justified by the very close presence of the sea in one of the least attractive locations on the island, stuck in the 80s.

Excellent location, cleanliness, and staff kindness are the only strong points of the property. Everything else needs renovation: bathroom with a tub, no shower, and no complimentary toiletries except for a shower cap and soap/shampoo that is the same for every need. There is only one slow and very hot elevator. The breakfast is truly 1970s: little variety, frozen croissants, packaged cakes of an unknown brand; there are flies buzzing over the trays of cold cuts and cheeses (it would be enough to put out transparent covers). Slow Wi-Fi. If you stay in the even-numbered rooms that overlook the service courtyard, prepare yourself for a wake-up call at dawn with the noise of glass being dumped (even at one in the morning) and the rest of the trash. The price is not exactly cheap, but you are definitely paying for the location.
