We organized this trip suddenly, without any advance planning. Along the way, we were looking for a place to sleep, and every time we did a search, Il Cantuccio appeared. The price also seemed acceptable for our needs, so we decided to book.
Upon arriving, the winding road made us think it would be a bit difficult to find, but in the end, we arrived in this ancient village and immediately noticed something pleasant: here the air seemed decidedly fresher and more breathable compared to other places we had visited. Probably also thanks to the higher elevation.
Il Cantuccio is slightly off the beaten path compared to the other properties located along the main roads, but in our opinion, this is actually one of its strengths. The village, with its narrow, labyrinthine streets, retains a special charm, and the B&B perfectly reflects the atmosphere of the place with its narrow, characteristic hallways.
The interiors, with their recently painted and well-kept walls, give the environment a touch of color and personality, making it even more welcoming. Our room was quite spacious, clean, and equipped with air conditioning. We also found a working refrigerator well-stocked with various types of drinks. As a pleasant welcome, there were cookies and also some wine to taste.
The mattresses were comfortable and we slept really well, which is not always a given when traveling.
The breakfast was also very good, abundant, and with a nice selection of both sweet and savory products, ideal for starting the day with the right energy.
Finally, a positive note for the owner, who was kind, helpful, and attentive to the guests' needs.
It was a choice made almost by chance, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Sometimes improvised trips really provide the best experiences. A stay that we gladly recommend and where we would return with pleasure.
