Minerva Palace

Reception area pleasant rooms are dismal. My room overlooked an ally with adjoining building with Perspex roof, curtains and shutters kept shut making the room more gloomy than it al ready was. Hotel dated throughout. Bathroom was badly planned, electric sockets loose and plaster coming away, I nearly fell into the toilet every time I got out of the shower. Too much furniture for the size of the room. Only allowed three minutes Wi-Fi every day. Receptionists regarded their guests as a nuisance. Breakfasts were good and this is the only positive part of my stay as the hotel is in a ver run down part of the town.

Beyond the reception area the hotel is dark and old-fashioned. The staff were pleasant, the food was OK, but if you’re an art lover don’t look at all the dreadful art on the walls or the awful, badly-painted soft porn murals in the dining room. And I’m an art judge.
