An excellent welcome and remarkably kind. The rooms are very pleasant and clean. The setting is magnificent with a view of the valley. The staff is very attentive. Ideally located at the entrance to the medieval town, which will allow you to access it easily. It was perfect!

We sincerely thank Lorenzo, his family, and all the staff at the Hotel IL MARZOCCO in Piazza Salimbeni in Montepulciano, in front of the famous Marzocco column, just a few meters from Porta a Prato, among the ancient walls. The hotel has been recently renovated, being a historic building that exudes an elegant atmosphere of bygone times. A perfect way to experience the Val d'Orcia, using Montepulciano as a base that captivates visitors with its beauty and proximity to other wonderful places in this part of Tuscany. From some rooms of the hotel, it is possible to gaze at the landscape towards the Val di Chiana, with the light shining on the nearby Lake Trasimeno. A hotel, moreover, dog-friendly (they welcomed our two small Jack Russells), making us feel like special guests. Breakfast is served in a room overlooking the Marzocco column, with the sounds and lights of the square below. Spacious rooms with every comfort and an elegant style, in line with the location. We also thank Mrs. Paola who pampered us with a genuine and personalized breakfast. We will definitely return to experience the magic that this land offers in every season.

Arrived late in the evening, met by a delightful older lady who was very kind to us during check in as we had zero italian. She worked with us and showed us to our room, which was an absolute delight. Air conditioned and beautifully presented with antique furnishings including modern touches. After beginning its hotel life in 1860 Albergo il Marzzocco now begins its second life after an 18 month renovation. So Good.
