Villa Poggiano

We stayed for 6 nights at Villa Poggiano and had an amazing time. The estate and grounds were so beautiful with gorgeous architecture and the most peaceful environment. Breakfast was delicious with many options available, included with room. The pool was very pretty and a great place to relax in afternoon. The staff was so kind and welcoming. We hope to come again. This will forever be one of our favorite places. The Villa is an easy 5 minute drive from Montepulciano and there is also a vineyard and cheese farm within 3 minutes where you can buy a picnic basket and sit and eat on the property.

Pros - good price, good location, very quiet. Some of the best views available of the countryside. Pool facility was very nice and a highlight of the stay. Cons - worst mattress we’ve experienced traveling in Italy. It was stiff as a board and we both woke up with back pain. My wife had to sleep on the couch the second night. “No picnic” signs are everywhere, including at the pool and seated areas with a view. You can’t bring your own food to enjoy outside, and there is no food service available except for a limited breakfast. Very sterile atmosphere almost like a library - quiet hours are imposed, no music playing. This property has a lot of potential but it didn’t feel very alive.

Villa Poggiano was the highlight of our entire trip to Italy, and we are already looking forward to returning! We chose Villa Poggiano because we wanted an authentic Tuscan experience rather than a more modern resort-style villa, and it exceeded every expectation. The villa is absolutely stunning, full of history and character, with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The entire property was impeccably maintained. Our room was spotless every day, the grounds were beautifully cared for, and the pool was always immaculate. It is clear that everyone takes great pride in keeping the villa beautiful. The hospitality was exceptional. Every staff member was genuinely kind and welcoming. A special thank you to Stefania, who was incredibly helpful before our arrival via email and upon our arrival assisted with restaurant reservations and other recommendations that made our stay even more memorable. Breakfast was fantastic each morning, with a generous buffet of fresh options and a small menu of made-to-order items (included), like omelettes, ensuring everything was fresh and delicious. We spent a great deal of time researching villas throughout Tuscany before booking Villa Poggiano and found it to be very reasonably priced compared to many other options. After staying there, we can confidently say it exceeded our expectations for value. Most of all, we loved the peaceful atmosphere. Villa Poggiano truly prioritizes tranquility, making it the perfect place for couples or families looking to slow down and relax. We cannot recommend Villa Poggiano enough.
