Passing through as pilgrims on the Francigena Way, we stopped for a night in this unexpected place. Unexpected because, in general, the hotels offered to travelers on the Francigena are of a low to medium standard. This place stands out for its ancient external structure and a modern and pleasant internal proposal. Absolutely worth considering as a starting point towards the charming villages and places in the surroundings. Behind the structure, there is a beautiful medieval church. The bar and dining room staff were exquisite.

The restaurant is nicely decorated and the food is decent. However, the service leaves much to be desired. Long wait times; the appetizers came for three people one at a time, the other with the main course, and the last one not at all. When we inquired about the order - which we had to do multiple times, even regarding the drinks - we were repeatedly met with annoyance. Mistakes can happen, but good complaint management is necessary, along with an apology. That was not the case. For a bad experience, it was quite expensive. We are often in the area, but we will not be returning here. There are restaurants nearby with better food and attentive service. And at lower prices.

Dirty room and shower floor. Nauseous smell of mold present in the room, more than room looked like a hole, carelessness everywhere fallen plaster, faulty room lock that stuck, non-existent routine maintenance. Hard mattress pillow flat. A mediocre breakfast. I did not sleep because of the smell and the discomfort of the bed, I could not take a shower after a full day of hiking in Siena. Terrible experience to forget. Very high prices in relation to what was received. Not even for free could I have reviewed with a higher rating. Not recommended.
