Hotel Villa Elda

Boutique hotel prices, but absolutely none of the boutique hotel standards. We regularly stay in boutique hotels, and our experience here was extremely disappointing. The staff were consistently unfriendly and unhelpful, and the level of service was virtually non-existent. Our bathroom had visible mold, and the toilet did not flush properly. In the room there was no complimentary bottle of water, not even a drinking glass, and basic amenities normally expected at this price — such as cotton buds, a shower cap or body lotion — were simply absent. Breakfast was particularly disappointing in both quality and choice. In our experience, even the standard breakfast offered at an Ibis is considerably better. We were also required to complete a document containing questions that we found bizarre and inappropriate, without understanding why such information was being requested. Finally, the advertised parking is extremely misleading: there is only one parking space for all hotel guests. If it is occupied, you have to find parking in the surrounding streets, which is very difficult. Considering the condition of the hotel, the lack of amenities, the poor service, and the breakfast, the price is completely disproportionate to what is actually provided. We would not stay here again. Boutique hotel prices, but absolutely none of the standards of a boutique hotel. Villa Elda Boutique Hotel is a very intimate and quiet location right outside the city centre. I have to disagree with comments arguing that it’s far from the centre as it’s literally 5 minutes walking and under a very appreciated tree-shaded/wonderful-view road). This means 2 very important (and not to underestimate) things: you can easily reach it by car (your own or taxi - if your own car, ensure to book the private parking well in advance by calling the hotel as it’s just 2 car spaces) so no need to carry luggages up and down the inner city, and it’s super quiet because completely off track the tourists flows - and believe me, with how wonderful Siena is, tourism is at peak every day of the week. There are very few rooms, accessible by stairs only. Our suite room was superb (as you can see from the view of the window I took while laying in bed) very well maintained, clean and with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. The breakfast area and the breakfast itself is limited due to the space that, because of the nature of the location itself, cannot allow for more capacity. But the selection is anyway good, with sweet and savoury options, and the service is super nice. Special mention goes to the staff, very kind, helpful and always with a pleasant smile. Don’t miss out the panoramic terrace on the third floor, it will fix into your mind unforgettable views, both day and night. Definitely a place worth to come back.

The location was not convenient to the center of the town. The breakfast buffet was limited and we had to be there at an assigned time.
