Il Vicario

What a wonderful experience for my sisters, cousins, and me. We absolutely loved our cooking class – and the results were delicious. We made fresh pasta and a simple sauce, both made extraordinary by the quality of the ingredients and their very own beautiful olive oil. Everything was washed down with excellent local wine, which made the whole experience feel even more special. The setting is idyllic, a place where you naturally slow down and savour the moment. Our host was an absolute delight – knowledgeable, curious, full of humour, and gently teasing (especially when she discovered I buy frozen garlic!). Her passion for Italian cooking, fresh produce, and local traditions shone through every step. Our time in Tuscany has been unforgettable, and this cooking course was truly one of the highlights. Highly recommended.

We stayed for 8 nights at Il Vicario and cannot speak highly enough of this charming B&B. Fulvio and Katia were absolutely the best hosts we could have wished for, so welcoming and kind from the moment we arrived until the time we left. Nothing was any trouble, the breakfasts were amazing (including considerate gluten free options for my coeliac partner) and the dinners were traditional Italian home-cooked food, prepared with all the pride and passion of Tuscany. The room was so comfortable, the pool was set against an idyllic backdrop of Tuscan hills, and Il Vicario just has such a relaxing, chilled out vibe. Each morning, Fulvio took an interest in our plans for the day and was so helpful with advice regarding where to visit, where to park and other practical tips. We have never been so sad to leave a hotel, so much so that our two nights in Pisa immediately following felt more like an extended journey home. We will definitely return to this lovely B&B one day and give it the highest possible recommendation.

Fulvio and Katia great hosts. They welcome with a sincere and warm smile, always available, always attentive to every need or request, more than guest I felt at home with friends. Hearty breakfasts and zero km, vegetables, jams, cakes, omelettes, juices, cold cuts and cheeses accompanied by their bread. Dinner is at the discretion of those who want to stop, there is no menu, they ask what you do not like or if you have intolerances and at 8.30 pm you all sit around a big table with other guests (obviously those who do not like can eat at other tables) and the expert hands of Katia and Fulvio make your taste buds vibrate always with their products, accompanied by glasses of Chianti and vin Santo from appetizer to dessert. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable, nothing is missing and I found nothing wrong. Thank you Fulvio and Katia, ours was not a stay but an experience to recommend. Faith and John from Milan
