We stayed at the castle in August 2026 and found it to be an amazing place! The views of Tuscany were incredible! We also loved the restaurant which we ate at twice during our stay. The staff were very personable, friendly, and helpful. Rita, who worked at the front office and at the restaurant was the best! I would definitely return for a future stay.

A real gem. The five of us shared one of the larger apartments (Montegufoni 23) and it was great. Loved the pool and just walking around the grounds. We stayed three nights and used it as a base to go to Volterra and S Gimignano. The castle is old so don’t expect lots of modern conveniences and also be sure to bring something for breakfast. Would love to return!

We felt very privileged to stay in this wonderful historic gem ! The castle was just amazing and gave us the completely unique experience of staying in an actual castle with its own grotto and magical story ! Everything was exceptional, the location, the views from the terrace and the wonderful friendly and helpful staff especially Stefania and Valentina (although everyone we met were very friendly and kind ) Yes it’s quirky and it’s not a hotel as most people would know it but it you embrace the thought of self catering and living for a while in this very special place you cannot fail to be utterly charmed by it ! We would most definitely love to return !
