Argentario Golf Resort & SPA

We stayed at the Argentario Golf Resort for 8 nights, booking two rooms. Unfortunately, considering the level of the property and especially the prices charged, the experience was below expectations. The property certainly has great potential, but it needs more care and maintenance, both in the rooms and in the outdoor areas. The pool area, which should be one of the resort's strong points, also presents several critical issues: on the edge of the pool, we even got three splinters in our feet in just a few steps, which is frankly unacceptable for a property of this level. Some services are also not proportional to the category and costs of the resort. The pool bar is definitely insufficient and the shuttle service to the beach, which should represent an important service given the location of the property, is not always guaranteed if booked after the number of people that can be transported (6). A daily fee is charged for the covered parking, which should at least correspond to impeccable service; instead, the management of the parking lot also seemed rather disorganized to us, with avoidable waiting times to exit and enter. We also stayed with our dog, for which a supplement of 30 euros per day is required. In this case as well, considering the cost, we would have expected greater attention and better services. Finally, what was particularly puzzling was the 50 euro charge for a pillow, not of any particular value—in fact, it was chewed at the end on an armchair—which, moreover, was not present in all the rooms; this seemed truly lacking in elegance, especially in light of an 8-night stay, two booked rooms, and all the additional costs incurred during our stay. It's a shame, because the resort is set in a very beautiful context and would have all the characteristics to offer a high-level experience. Precisely for this reason, one would expect greater attention to maintenance, organization, and above all to those details that make the difference in a property of this category.

Overall, we had a very good stay, largely thanks to the management, who were exceptionally welcoming, attentive, and consistently present throughout our visit. However, a few operational adjustments are needed to truly justify the high price point—even considering local Italian standards. Our primary concern was the breakfast service. While the buffet selection itself was fine, the organization and staffing fell short once the hotel filled up. Early in our stay, when guest numbers were lower, everything ran smoothly. However, as occupancy increased, the system seemed to collapse. Waitstaff took orders and immediately moved on to clearing other tables, often forgetting what was requested. Orders were frequently missed entirely, and coffee routinely arrived only after we had already finished eating. The team simply appeared understaffed and overwhelmed during peak times. As for the facilities, our room was clean, though noticeable signs of age are starting to show. Outside, the surroundings could benefit from better maintenance; the golf course was entirely dry and yellow rather than green. While the extreme heat in July/August undoubtedly plays a role, at this price level, you expect a well-kept environment regardless of the season. At reception, the staff were extraordinarily friendly and helpful in person. However, communication follow-through was unreliable—responses to inquiries were often severely delayed or never came back at all. On a positive note, the location is beautiful, and the hotel’s restaurants offer excellent quality food. The overall substance is definitely there, but currently, the price-to-performance ratio isn't quite aligned due to these service and maintenance gaps. We would still recommend it, but hope management uses this feedback to polish the guest experience.

An elegant and welcoming property in a natural and relaxing setting. We appreciated the courtesy and availability of the staff; the service dedicated to the cleaning and tidying of the room was very attentive. The Dama Dama restaurant is highly recommended.
