Villa Delle Rose

I still cannot believe that this hotel only has 3.8 on TA. Reading the 2023 reviews, one would never dare to book here. I dared to ignore all the reviews and rely on my own intuition, and I did well. There will always be problems with the AC or pool, and for that, I always call a week before to be sure that everything is in order so that you can still eat. This typically Italian hotel (more of an Albergo=inn) from 1977 has kept all its authenticity of classic Italian art with a wrought-iron staircase railing. We had taken the double room (not superior) and it was comfortable with air conditioning that we could adjust ourselves and which worked perfectly. The room was ultra spacious with a standard bathroom, nothing more. In Italy or Spain, the bathroom always remains the weak link of the room. But it was very clean; it is rather the way the shower operates that could confuse people accustomed to modern bathrooms with ultra-sophisticated mixing valves. We ate at the hotel and all our dishes were good. I would like to highlight the beautiful wine list. Kind and cordial staff, as one could wish for, having a lot of patience. Believe me, you need patience with us, and they took the time to answer all our questions. If you are looking for a modern hotel with comfort that is just as modern, keep looking. If, on the other hand, the Italian authenticity of a hotel that amply deserves its 4 stars or the comfort of spacious, air-conditioned rooms takes precedence over modernism, stop here because you will not be disappointed by the hotel's setting and its magnificent pool.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast good but supper was all seven nights we ate there so tasteless, colorless and dry. We found out that in Tuscany you find out everything and nothing wrong with it. However, even with leftovers you can get something good. The vegetables were always cooked and lost color and flavor. The pasta was dry, the meat was overheated and became dry. Maybe it was because we were a big company though? So stay there but eat supper elsewhere!
