Grand Hotel Duomo

Excellent breakfast, friendly and welcoming staff, and a great location. Around a 15-minute walk to the Leaning Tower of Pisa and close to a local train station, making it easy to explore the area. We had a wonderful stay and would happily return. One small point to note is that the route to and from the hotel involves passing through an underpass, which was not particularly well lit. We felt safe using it during the daytime, but it may be worth being aware of this if arriving late at night.

Hotel particularly well located 3 minutes' walk from the tower. On the other hand, still stuck in the 70s! For a 4-star hotel, it's borderline. Room with a small bathtub... bedding good, air conditioning okay. Noise from the very busy street, but not too bothersome with the windows closed. Decent breakfast. It's really the decor that's lacking... very dated. Garage available for $25 per night.

I had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant during my stay, and unfortunately my overall experience was very disappointing because of the service. Breakfast was honestly awful. The food quality was extremely poor, especially the fruit, which looked and tasted far from fresh. The selection was disappointing and definitely not what I expected. It was a terrible way to start the day. What made the experience even worse was the dining room manager. She was arrogant, rude, and unprofessional. She frequently raised her voice, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for both guests and staff. In the evening, I decided to give the restaurant another chance. The dinner was actually very good—the food was flavourful, well-prepared, and enjoyable. The view was also beautiful and made for a lovely setting. Unfortunately, the experience was once again ruined by the same manager. Her rude and discourteous attitude completely spoiled the atmosphere. The most disturbing part was the way she spoke to customers, but especially to the employees. Watching staff being treated with such disrespect was uncomfortable and unacceptable. Overall, the dinner and the view deserved high praise, but the poor service and the manager's behavior overshadowed everything else.
