Agriturismo il Girasole

We spent half the afternoon after work in the farmhouse pool, beautiful, spectacular view of San Gimignano, excellent aperitif and charcuterie board by the pool, ideal for relaxation and tranquility, owners super kind and helpful.

This is such a lovely place to stay! Stella will welcome you and give you lots of information. The infinity pool is lovely and the view of San Gimignano, especially as the sun sets, is amazing. It’s a 5 km drive into town for supper which is doable, though a bit hairy driving home on the twisty roads when you’re unused to them. The rooms are large and very clean and the beds comfortable. It’s quite quiet and dark at night with beautiful star gazing opportunities! Be careful exiting from the driveway as a bit of a blind corner- also coming in the driveway from town is a sharp turn up a very short gravel incline which is tricky driving a standard - you’ll throw some gravel up for sure! We had breakfast with Stella 2 mornings and left quite full. There are some extra charges for doing laundry, extra coffee, but we were very happy with our stay ,thought it great value for our money and would certainly come again!

We felt so welcome at Il Girasole, thanks to our warm and friendly host, Stella. She gave us information about events happening in San Gimignano which we loved. There was a medieval festival happening that weekend that was very impressive. The pool was inviting and the outdoor barbecue was enjoyed by us. The grounds and rooms were very well kept and all of our needs in the kitchen were taken care of. The beds were comfortable and the decor was in the Tuscan theme - very pretty. We enjoyed seeing fireflies at night, and occasionally fireworks in the distance. A magical experience that we would love to repeat! Thank you Stella, Simone & Jack!
