Dangerous dirt track up to the propriety.Dark, unwelcoming entrance, steep stairs to the bedroom.The bedroom lacking any heating or cosiness and really inappropriate painting .there was no safe.Clean bedding. Breakfast:meagre and unappetising and coffee just from a mokka coffee maker placed on your table no choice or chance of a cappuccino nor a hot breakfast We had booked for six days but so unwelcoming we left after three, If you are not super fit, forget walking to SG.

We stayed 5 days at the Locanda and enjoyed the warmth and care of Paolo and his wife. Room , bathroom and terrace were spotlessly clean, breakfast varied and delicious. There was always fresh homemade cake and other delicacies. We got good tips for excursions and restaurants in the area, the place San Gimignano is within 10-15 minutes walk, the Locanda has ample parking. The view from the Locanda to the village of San Gimignano is beautiful and romantic at any time of the day. We felt very comfortable and are grateful that we were so lovingly looked after!

An absolute Recommendation not only for San Gimignano, but also as a starting point for tours throughout Tuscany. For excursions Roberto always has very good tips and the folder from the hotel for the trips to the perfect! We used many tips and despite the 5th Visiting Tuscany can discover a lot of new things again. The warmth of the hosts is unique and definitely invites you to come back! You feel very welcome! What was also perfect for us - the free secure parking at the hotel, walking distance to the city center in 8 minutes! And actually the hotel is a small art exhibition with the beautiful paintings of Roberto.
