Novotel Florence North Airport Hotel

Our flight landed 2 hours late and the car hire company closed without leaving keys for our car. At midnight stranded at the airport we booked a room. Arrived at hotel to find the system thought we had booked for the next night, no rooms at all for us. the receptionist was extremely kind and called a number of hotels and found one for us.

British Airways cancelled our flights to London/US so we needed a hotel to stay for the night. I looked this one up quickly and hoped it would be OK. It's about 10 minutes from the airport and the cab cost $37 to transport 4 of us and our luggage. The staff at check-in were super friendly and offered to book a taxi for our early morning flight the next day. Hotel is located in sort of an industrial area, but once inside the lobby was bright and friendly. Our room was clean and had comfortable beds. They have a nice pool, a bar with great bartenders and a restaurant that had awesome food! Despite our travel plans being disrupted, we enjoyed our short stay and were happy they had food/beverages on site so we didn't have to go searching the area. The only issue was the A/C wasn't the greatest and a few details of the room looked a little run down. The cab ride back ended up being more expensive, but we assume that's because it was a really early flight. Would stay here again if we were in the area.

We stayed overnight on 8/16 during our trip to Trentino. The location of the property is practically in an industrial area, so in the middle of nowhere, resulting in a cold and sterile atmosphere. The rooms—ours was a superior—are furnished very minimally; fortunately, the bed is comfortable, with an even more minimal bathroom, a tiny sink, and a shower at risk of flooding. Let's draw a veil of pity over the restaurant: low value for money, flavorless and unappealing dishes. We are unlikely to return again. The only positive note is the staff.
