Hotel San Francesco

fantastic stay hotel very old right next to the Basilica views to die for food great recommend it for atmosphere alone.Great location lots to do and see in the area,.we were on a tour of Italy and only stayed one night wish it could have been longer,Good service staff very friendly.

Perfect location right across the street from Basilica inferiore di San Francesco d'Assisi where St. Francis is buried. The distance to the parking is not as far as it appears on the map as Assisi is a very small town. Plain decor, but good AC, refrigerator in the room and very nice staff who speak excellent English. Breakfast is generous with cold cuts, cheese, eggs and bacon, sweets, 4 juices, etc. Excellent place to stay.

The highlight of this Hotel is the location and the view. We reserved the room with the "basilica view" which is absolutely to die for! especially at sunset and at night. During the day, it could be a little noisy, but we were usually out at those times. Enjoyed the breakfast variety and the lady making the coffee very graciously waited on us every day and prepared the coffee just as we asked for (very important point for us :) ). Front desk was very helpful guiding us about finding the parking location. Definitely go back there!
