Relais Corte Di Bettona

When you drive your car up you think where do I end up? You enter the square and go back in time in this very old town. There are five parking spaces in front of the hotel but when they are full, an entire parking space is reserved downstairs on the city wall. From this car park, stairs lead directly to the hotel. We got a room with a beautiful view. We had not booked extra for this but could enjoy it. The room was beautiful and clean. In the evening the tables are set around the pool and the beautiful terrace. While you eat you can enjoy the beautiful view. You are in the middle of Perugia and Assisi and look straight at the airport runway. There are planes flying over the hotel but we have not experienced that as a nuisance. Because Perugia airport is so close (15 km) any transfer is a short drive. The staff needs to get to know you but is very nice and ready for you. Every day a fresh breakfast is waiting for you and if you have dietary needs you only have to indicate it. At one point in our room the air conditioning broke and the lady from the reception offered us another room right away. Also a super nice room but the view was gone, we looked on the one wall. We did not mind because it was so hot that we had the shutters closed a lot. This air conditioning was really perfect and there was a big TV. At the store I bought an HDMI cable and could watch our own programs (journal and stuff) via the laptop. The restaurant is good but not top notch. We understand there is a new chef and he still has to find his feet (that is our taste). Fortunately, there is plenty of alternative in the area. After breakfast, the pool opens at 11 am until 7 pm. It is not a very large pool but fine to cool off. We received a card from the reception with a mobile number. In case of any problem we could call the number and they would be ready for us. A fine thought and fortunately not needed. We think you really get value for money and that you can stay in a special location. Of course there are people who can find something to write a negative review and when you are used to palaces I get that, but for the other people I would say enjoy your holiday and get everything out of it. You are in a beautiful environment with a special history.

Relais not at the level of the 4 stars it claims to be. Spartan rooms that could be embellished, little care for customers, everything quite approximate. Yet it has all the credentials to offer a higher quality service. Beautiful location, in the well-kept village of Bettona, easy parking.

Stayed here 3 days during our tour. How pleasantly surprised we were. It's just a drive up and parking is limited, but is definitely worth it. Nice room with a view over the whole of Umbria. There are not many restaurants and they are not open every day, but the food in the hotel was great. Small menu but what they had was very tasty and of very good quality. Very nice stay here and would definitely recommend this hotel. There is a small swimming pool with limited space for cots and umbrellas but they try to furnish it as well as possible. Also the breakfast was top with real coffee no vending machine. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Friendly staff, friendly staff. Top
