Albergo Aurora

The location of this hotel is very good, 2 minutes on foot of the old town; great view from your room. Excellent value for money, we went to 2 other hotels closeby and they asked ridiculous prices for rooms that were not bigger albeit the hotels were nicer overall. So we decided to stay at the Aurora. It is not what you call a goodlooking hotel, the bathroom is very small, but is is very clean. If you want a clean room with all amenities , value for moneyy, and do not mind about being modern and cute, this hotel is good for you. Breakfast is nothing to write home about but then again, for the good price you cannot expect much more. Only drawback is the noice of the street so used ear plugs and slept well. The lady at teh reception is a bit rough but just accept it as being part of the package. In fact she is doing everything by herself and seemed like a courageous woman.

We had booked online previously, when we arrived we got shouted at for saying our names and telling the propertier who we were. The room was basic, the towels smelt old but in general the room was ok for the price. The breakfast was a joke, very cheap pastries and disgusting coffee. We asked for a tea but got shouted at for asking for something different. The lady who ran the hotel was abrupt, rude and at times quite scary!!!! We were 10 minutes late leaving to which the owner banged loudly on the door and shouted at us to leave in that instant, we didn't even have time to check that we had all our belongings. When I asked for my passport to be returned to me she tried to tell me that she didn't have it...I waited until she gave it back to which we promptly left. Such a shame, Perugia was a beautiful place and the location of the hotel was excellent but me and my friend would have rather slept on a bench outside. Me and my friend have travelled alot but never had such a bad experience in a hotel. Don't stay here!!!!

Hotel Aurora It is far from being the best hotel ever but, for the price you pay I wouldn't ask for more... I must admit the hotel has quite a good location, close to the centre, and the view was surprisingly beautiful. Breakfast on the other hand was a little bit basic but at least coffee was good.
