Resort & Spa San Crispino

Upon arrival, you immediately notice how the entire place is slowly falling into disrepair, gardens and the entire exterior of the resort without the slightest maintenance, an uncontrolled jungle, weeds and dry plants everywhere, who knows when was the last time they swept. The spa service was not working, the owners made one excuse after another to justify it, but judging by the rest, I bet it hasn't been working for a long time. Before we could check in, we waited 30 minutes for someone to show up, only to be assigned a room that hadn't even been cleaned (cobwebs with live and dead spiders attached in the shower and bathroom, dirty toilet seat, and hair everywhere). We stayed for one night, and when we woke up, there was no water or electricity in the entire building, services that were not restored until we checked out. Nothing like this had ever happened to us before...

We found the resort abandoned, especially in the outdoor areas, even if potentially of great scope and quality. A decline of the facility is evident, which needs a renovation in the interior spaces. Immediately after check-in we were left alone in the facility with the invitation to enter and exit through the back door. A real shame, given the location immersed in the countryside and a garden rich in plants and flowers and scents.

The location is very beautiful and surrounded by greenery among olive trees and vineyards. The main problem, however, is the management of the place, so do not rely on the photos you see because they are all at least a decade old. Weeds everywhere and the sidewalks in certain areas are unusable due to the lack of landscaping. Neglect also in the common indoor spaces, including the reception, with cobwebs almost everywhere. I did not see all the rooms, but in mine there were cobwebs everywhere, including the bathroom. The pool area is full of flies, bees, and wasps, and the lounge chairs are mostly broken. As for room amenities, the air conditioner with adjustable temperature worked very well, and it appears that heating is also available, both via heat pump and radiators, and the minibar kept things very cold. But do not expect to be able to get something from the property's bar at any time of the day, as it is entrusted to only one person, sometimes two, but only during the day; in fact, one evening (it was 8:00 PM) we realized that we were the only two people in the entire property. Beyond breakfast, with croissants, cakes, toast, yogurt, and cereal, and sometimes fresh fruit, the rest is left to the guests to manage, leaving only a phone number in case of emergencies. Ah, the Wi-Fi has not been working for several months, from what I understand, and there is not much signal. It is a shame because it would deserve a lot as a place and for its proximity to many towns if only it were maintained as it should be and as its name suggests, and the price paid, compared to a real resort in the vicinity of Assisi where we have already stayed, was truly a rip-off when comparing the type of property, the services, and the management. I do not know if the other reviews are from people who actually stayed in the same property, as there are others nearby belonging to the same estate.
