Camping Bella Italia

Ignore the bad reviews and go with an open mind. Lovely place and everything you could want onsite, clean cabins and bedding, very close to the lake, Pesciera, ferries and train station. Peaceful despite being a busy site, and felt safe the whole time. Great supermarket and fruit and veg shop, ice creams, amazing takeaway and all reasonable . Can pop to Verona easily on the train or bus. Stunning scenery 😃

Review of Bella Italia: (With three teenage boys) Spotless clean, decent food, good variety of restaurants. Campsite has everything from a pharmacy, hairdressers, supermarket, you name it; in theory you wouldn't have to leave. But running parallell to it is the beautiful lake, and it's a stunning walk into Pescheira centre itself. Good selection of pools, deepest one up at the hotel which is more relaxed. Late Sept/Early Oct lovely time to go; everything was open as far as I could see. We were blessed with lovely weather around 25/26 every day. No queues whatsoever in Gardaland the day we went. If you like rollercoasters some great ones. We were there when the fire happened; thankfully our area was unaffected other than losing gas and hot water for 24 hours. Minor details when you consider how things might have been. Did day trips to beautiful Sirmione and Verona - again recommend. Not much to do in the evenings other than go out to restaurant; football was on a few nights which suited the boys. They were at a bit of a loose end though in the evenings but they had their phones. If checking in a bag I would take some food from home that you can cook to save a bit of money as it is pricey enough to eat out. But you can get rolls and ham/salads etc. in supermarket for lunches. Midgets/Mosquitoes whatever they were - they were a big probelm. We were all ate alive despite everyone using protection. Think it's par for the course so close to a lake.

During our stay with our two young children, €1,500 was stolen from our bungalow. The door was locked, so they went in with a key. The security also told us that this was not the first incident and even showed footage of someone entering a bungalow with a key. We reported it immediately and expected help and understanding from a 5-star campsite. Unfortunately, we got the opposite. The camp manager showed little interest and stated that it was not their responsibility because nothing could be seen on a camera. The camera had no view of our front door. The other camera wasn't even connected. A compensation or reimbursement? No mention of. We only had the choice: leave and pay only the down payment, or stay and pay everything. Later we were even forced to pay for the rest of our stay in advance, because they were apparently afraid that we would not pay. When I asked for a solution again by phone, I even received a warning that I should be "careful" with a bad review, because otherwise the police would be involved. We were robbed, but were treated as if we were the problem. We have never experienced this before and never want to experience it again. We expected safety, support, and humanity from a 5-star campsite. None of the three we have experienced.
