Hotel Marina

Nice quiet location The pools and whirlpool are nice, it's a shame that it is a hotel for families with children and animals, so it was very noisy; it felt like being in a mini Gardaland. Very nice and helpful staff, from the reception to the maintenance team that had to solve a few problems for me in the room. Breakfast below expectations in terms of quality.

* All pools are infested with mold * Outdoor pool area due to the partially dilapidated as well as poorly laid tiles: extreme risk of injury (you can trip and easily cut yourself) * The pool is not wheelchair accessible * Entrance area directly to the rooms is not secure. Some of the screws are missing from the door lock and it hangs loosely.) * When you come out of the pool, you smell bad (no idea what agent is put in it, in any case it does not smell like chlorine). Swimsuits and swim trunks continue to stink of the pool with a disgusting odor even after washing. * The lawn by the pool area is anything but well-maintained. It is overgrown, covered with weeds, as well as trash. * You have to be careful with the loungers by the sports pool so that they do not tip over (they are worn out and crooked). Likewise, you have to be careful not to get a splinter, as the wood is brittle. * Cleaning in the rooms is not done regularly. * You have to chase after fresh towels and toilet paper. * The children's playground is dangerous. Children can tip over while swinging. * You have to be careful with the billing; they like to charge for things twice, such as beach and parking fees. * There are obviously extreme differences in the billing of rooms and other costs. After consulting with an equally dissatisfied family who even left early, we learned that they paid 15 EUR per day for the parking space and we paid 20 EUR, etc. * You pay for the parking space, but there is a shortage of spots, so you end up not having one. * Cleanliness generally leaves a lot to be desired, regardless of whether it's the room, pool, etc. The absolute horror toilet is the one for the restaurant. It is disgustingly dirty, not wheelchair accessible, and the light goes out within a short time, leaving you in the dark even if you move. * The parking lot is video-monitored, yet not secure, as there was parking damage. Despite the surveillance, it was not possible to determine who caused the damage. * There are terraces by the rooms, but you cannot use them because there are neither sun umbrellas nor a cover, and the blazing sun shines right on them. * Lights in the rooms are partially damaged and hanging down * generally child-unfriendly staff * At the reception, there is one single experienced, competent blonde lady; all the others are absolutely unprofessional. No matter what you ask or request, the answer is: "I don't know." For a four-star hotel, the receptionists are absolutely unsuitable and would fit better in a hostel/motel. If they don't know the answer, they leave you standing there and simply walk away (leave the reception). We asked what kind of product is used in the spa area, as it burns terribly in the eyes and lungs when used. I have never experienced staff like this anywhere. We have been to many hotels, and not everything can be perfect. However, this time, in this hotel, it was an imposition overall. It is not recommended, at least not for this price range or 4 stars. If it were a motel, okay.

Unfortunately, our experience with this hotel was very disappointing. The facilities are excellent and the hotel itself is beautiful, but the service does absolutely not do justice to a 4-star hotel. Upon arrival we were told that a beach bed with umbrella cost €15 to €20 per day and that reservations were not possible. The night before we wanted to go to the beach, we were told again that reservations were not possible, and the next morning it suddenly turned out that a bed cost €25 per day and that the price of €15 only applied if you booked directly for the whole week. This felt very misleading. We have raised this with the hotel, but there has never been a substantive response. In addition, we asked in advance if we could charge our electric car and get a separate invoice for this. That wouldn't be a problem, according to reception. When checking out, this suddenly turned out not to be possible. No separate invoice could be provided or even a specification of how the amount for loading was structured. As if that wasn't enough, there were also beach beds of €15 per day on our account when we hadn't used them at all. We had to point this out ourselves before these costs were removed. That we had to check our own account for unjustified charges gives little confidence. Communication was unclear and contradictory throughout the stay. That's a pity because the hotel facilities are really good. However, due to the poor service and the way in which guests are treated, we would not recommend this hotel and find the service level absolutely not worth 4 stars.
