Hotel Mirage

A high-level welcome, also giving us the feeling of being at home, immersed in nature with the unforgettable spectacle of the Dolomites, in a place of tranquility and serenity. You couldn't ask for more from a vacation!

Location was great. Really close to Cortina city centre. We chose to drive to town for our own comfort and flexibility travelling with a toddler, but the hotel offers free shuttle service at regular hours. The first impression on the atmosphere was quite pleasant, with lots of people relaxing outside and many families and dogs. Travelling with a toddler we were looking for a family-friendly place and the first impression was definitely that. Overall everyone was also very friendly and reportedly called our daughter by name. We got a family room. It was spacious and it was nice to have our daughter in a separate space. The room itself was otherwise quite dated, both in the features and the amenities. It would do with some updating. While the wooden features throughout the hotel are very typical and a lovely touch, they could still be updated. Room was clean. I’d say the value was mostly fair because the location was great as well as the views! Restaurant food was very good. We enjoyed both the breakfast buffet and the dinners - lovely to have a different menu served each night! It helps keep guests in-house. One thing I didn’t like was on the first night, even though we were told we had to book for dinner, when I inquired to book at 5pm (dinner starts at 7.30pm and we checked in closed to 3!) I was first told by the receptionist that they had just sold the last table. In the end she still managed to “squeeze us in” but I found it odd and a bit unpleasant to be told this as hotel guest. I know dinner isn’t included but the hotel should give priority to its guests and make an effort to check if we wanted to have dinner there at least. As we weren’t asked this question (even upon check in), i think it was a bit out of place. The bar experience was a bit average. Drinks took a long time to be made and orders also weren’t taken very promptly nor were we acknowledged quickly. Bill at the end was incorrect (missing items) but as I come from hotel management myself, I told them about the missing items as I know what a shame it is to miss on revenue for this sort of errors. Overall, positive experience but my expectations are very high, so I’m happy to still give it 4*. My daughter loved playing outside.

The Mirage Hotel, chosen from among many properties and other destinations, is ideal for those looking for tranquility, tradition, and the flavor of the mountains. The location is excellent; you can reach the center of Cortina in 2 minutes. Convenient access, and a clean, well-equipped, and charming property. From the outside, you can already perceive the attention to detail and the quality of the place. We stayed on a half-board basis, with a breakfast for all tastes, and a dinner with typical dishes, refined and revisited with a modern twist. Typical room, clean and quite spacious, but above all with an incredible view. Well-organized mini club service for children (children can have dinner with the entertainment staff with dedicated dishes and constant supervision). Aperitif in the outdoor garden every evening with small snacks offered by the hotel. Furthermore, sauna, heated indoor pool, outdoor jacuzzi (by reservation) with a fantastic view of the Dolomites. Excellent value for money and a discreet yet at the same time familiar atmosphere. The staff, Luca at the reception and all the others, are truly very professional and kind. We will return.
