Hotel Sole

Lovely hotel all the staff were friendly polite and helpful can't really fault the hotel, if I had 1 negative thing to say I found the rooms a little bit to warm which effected my sleep, had to go out and buy a fan for the room. But I was there in the middle of a heat wave

We had a nice room on the first floor with a large semi shared veranda overlooking the side road. Our first impression of the room was that it was quite compact with hardly enough room at the end of the bed for two to pass! There was only one chair and no table. The room was very clean with two single beds pushed together…which we didn’t mind. There was a large wardrobe with plenty of hanging space and some hangers (we also took hangers with us) and inside was the free safe. We had two complementary bottles of water in the mini fridge…there wasn’t much space for other drinks though. The water wasn’t replaced so we bought more from the supermarket nearby along with cans of coke etc, The Coca Colas up round the pool were €4 each and small 50cl water €2.50. The bathroom was large with a bidet and walk in shower, plus complementary toiletries. Tea and coffee making was also provided, but no milk. We asked for extra pillows as the ones provided were quite flat. The bed was quite comfy. Breakfast was all self service except for the tea and coffee which were brought to the table. There was also a self service coffee machine, Juices and Prosecco. There was an assortment of croissants, cakes, fruit, yoghurts, bread etc along with cold meats , bacon, scrambled and fried eggs. Unfortunately the fried eggs were often old and hard and the bacon sometimes was inedible! For Coeliacs there was a small assorted selection of sealed Gluten Free options…..muffins, biscuits etc. We tried some of them but apart from being out of date they were so dry and boring. Evening meals were taken at the same table for the duration of the holiday. It consisted of a self service salad bar followed by three more courses which were chosen at breakfast . The presentation of the food in the evenings was quite professional, but as the choices were limited there wasn’t always something we both liked. Drinks and water were charged to the room. A large 75cl. bottle of water was €3.50 There didn’t seem to be much of a dress code in the evening….most women made an effort but many men wore shorts and sandals. Staff in the restaurant were friendly and attentive and were obviously well trained. The rooftop pool although small was lovely, mainly for just bobbing about and cooling off, but still some people tried to do lengths, so sometimes got in the way. There were a number of loungers but the ones with a view of the lake and beside the pool were usually taken early and there were only 10 of them, but were also in full sun all day. The rest of the loungers were round the side and back overlooking other buildings, but offered more shade. There were a number of tables and chairs also, so it was easy to have drinks and snacks/lunches too. Pool towels were provided in the room along with a gown and slippers. We had to put the towels over the chairs on our veranda to dry as there wasn’t a towel exchange system. The position of the hotel was great! Only 50 yards down the road the first cafes and shops started, with the lake only another 50 yards further on. The road outside the hotel didn’t have a pavement and crossing the busy road to get to the shops could be a challenge, but there was a small underpass with steps, although perhaps not easy for the infirm or pushchairs.

This hotel is perfect, not too big or small, lovely, smiley and engaging staff, all very helpful. The hotel and rooms were impeccably clean, the breakfast was brilliant with loads of high quality choice and far more than just your typical continental breakfast. The roof top pool is brilliant, amazing views and sunbeds always available. Considering all elements, this is the best hotel I've stayed in.
