Hotel Stockholm

I am deeply disappointed, upset, and offended; I have never felt so humiliated!!! I contacted this hotel to book two rooms in September, as I am traveling with my husband, our beloved little dog, and our trusted dog sitter. I chose this property because it is logistically close to our friends' house and, above all, for the excellent positive reviews. I immediately sensed, following the response to my booking request email, that our presence was not welcome, as we were told that no rooms were available during the chosen period, which was not true because by trying to book directly from the site, the rooms were available; who knows, perhaps the system was not updated. I therefore rescheduled the trip, modifying the itinerary so I could change the dates. Obviously, before booking, I asked for confirmation regarding the services, since I had not found this information on the site. I kindly asked if the dog-friendly welcome kit was available, given that the hotel declared itself pet-friendly, a service present in three-star hotels. I was told that it was not provided but that the staff would make available what was needed. I made sure the property had a private parking lot, a legitimate request for a three-star hotel, because my husband cares about his car. Lastly, I asked if the linens were treated with nickel-free detergents because my husband is severely allergic to nickel, another legitimate request, after which I would have immediately confirmed our reservation and paid for the entire stay even in advance if requested. I don't think I made four/five-star superior requests. Yet, upon the request about the linens, Ms. Roberta, quite nervous, hung up the phone on me. I called back and I presume the owner, Mr. Alessandro, answered, telling me to contact the Hotel delle Nazioni, a four-star superior. During my phone calls, I was always polite; I just wanted to make sure I had the services we needed as a family. I always specified that there were no problems if the services involved an additional cost. We would have gladly provided for it. I was rudely invited to contact another property. I have traveled a lot and have stayed in various properties from two to five-star superior: I had never happened to encounter a property that selects its clientele based on stupid prejudices about people's social status. I felt like a victim of prejudice just for the fact that perhaps we gave the impression of being wealthy people and consequently pretentious and a pain in the neck. It is clear that at Hotel Stockholm profit is not welcome, but that does not justify the way you treated us without even knowing us. We wealthy people are not the ones who are stuck-up, but you are, selecting your clientele based on prejudices and with truly rude manners. In the hotel industry, availability, patience, and courtesy are fundamental skills. It is too convenient to have tailor-made clientele. Not recommended!!!

Excellent location, very close to the beach. The hotel management was very friendly. They were very professional and helpful in all aspects and made my stay enjoyable. The hotel location is great, the hotel room was nice and very clean. The bed was comfortable, the newly renovated bathroom was excellent. I will be back next time.
