Mercure Venezia Marghera

Modern well appointed hotel. Reception staff very personable & friendly. Quite remote for eating and drinking out without calling a cab. In this regards BEWARE! Taxis will come From Mastre and will charge you for the journey from (ie the journey to come and pick you up - about €10/11) as well as where you want to go to. This resulted in a 3km cab ride costing €20 ouch!!. Back at hotel rooms were typical business set up but had everything you need. I would recommend for a late check in/early get up for flight or cruise stay but not suitable if you have time to kill and want to explore. If a drink is all you want then a 700m walk to the Red Bear craft ale pub is worth the trek.
