Le Calandre

In 20 years visiting hotels all over the world I think Hotel le Calandre is one of the worst I have ever experienced. Premise: three-star hotel, you enter and there is no lobby, a place to sit, just a counter just over a meter long where a little man who does what he can finds a place. Immediately warns me that it will not be possible to have breakfast because the lady in charge is back in Romania!!!! Payment is in advance because he (probably the only employee of the facility) makes it from 9:00 to 20:00. For most of the day the structure remains unmanned. Camera. The room gives on a "nice" terrace full of throwaway mattresses, water-painting containers, even a broken washing machine. Room with bad smell that gives no sense of cleanliness. Then you have to choose whether to sleep or turn on the air conditioner/heater. The two things are not compatible because of the loud noise emanating from the latter. All the electrical part (sockets, switches) on one side of the bed does not work: in particular the switches fall back making it discreetly dangerous. But the beauty is yet to come: the bathroom. First of all, the door does not open and close: it remains stuck in half due to interference with the floor. To make it make the whole way, a robust shoulder lift is required. This affects the state of the handle which, due to the efforts carried out, is dismantled with each use. There is not a single piece of metal (including the paper holder) that is not oxidized or rusted. The shower has large surfaces covered with limestone and the roller shutter body is open with the closure there to collapse. All for € 65 per person per night: far too much for what is offered. What about: Padua does not deserve a business card like this; I certainly will not return. My view is that this facility should be closed. A doubt: but who decides the stars of a hotel?

I'm not a difficult person or with the smell under my nose, but I think this is the worst hotel that has happened to me! Photos from the site? Don't look at them! Dilapidated bathroom, water leaks from the bidet, oxidized taps, shower tray to risk your life and.... we override the cleaning. Air conditioning does not work, sockets work 2 out of 5, minibar that when you open it risks giving the rounds (in the room of our friends did not even work) door handle that risks coming off, stained walls and floor with tiles that move. Let's move on to breakfast.... nothing made you want to do it, (starting with the electric slippers resting on the table near the toaster and the food full of fat and dust) in short, a real disaster. I'm just sorry for the person who greeted us which was the only positive note.

Very small old hotel. There are no double beds. The beds are combined for two. The rooms are small. Power outlets are dangerous, safety measures are required. Most are broken and not repaired. Cleanliness is average. Breakfast is enough, the elevator is too small. Not good to stay with a group. It’s enough for a 1-night stay.
