Appartamento Corte Due Porte

Very complete apartment, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, very clean. But the portal was scary, like a horror movie in an unlit alley with a bad smell and the door opened by itself. Quite far from the center although quite close to the vaporetto.

Dear Silena, this was our first trip to Venice and the experience was amazing. The apartment was clean, comfortable and best of all situated away from the maddening crowds. Peace and quiet at night and morning waking up to the sound of normal activity and a parrot who welcomed the morning with gentle chit chatter. It was lovely. Yet amazingly a few minutes away was all the craziness. Close to the vaporetto drop off so no miles of lugging suitcases. However 3 flights of stairs was a challenge but the stairway was not as narrow as expected. We are close to our sixties in age (but very young at heart) and we managed. It was worth the climb. I would definitely recommend this apartment for two couples & concur all the positive comments regarding the recent reviews by fellow travellers.

My wife and I traveled to Italy with three teenagers. This place was serviceable, but the square where the apartment was located was not attractive at all. It was in a very small, grafitti infested square with construction going on . It was rather dreary, especially considering all the pretty locations and canal views we saw while transporting ourselves to the apartment.. I wanted to stay away from the touristy area near St. Mark's, and I understood we weren't going to be in a tourist area, but this was a bit disappointing. I had to ask if the area was safe, which I think may have offended the owner, and in retrospect it was safe. But looking at the area it was the first question that popped in all my family members' heads. The apartment was clean with AC. It didn't heat up the second bedroom immediately, becasue the vent is located in the hall, not the bedroom. If you go out for a period you may have to leave the hallway AC on while your out so the place is cool when you return. The master bedroom AC worked well and cooled the room immediately. It could stay off while out. There are rentable flats in the general area that can still give you a nicer "Venice" feel.
