I had a very frustrating experience attempting to cancel a reservation at Hotel Palazzo Vitturi booked through Expedia. I requested the cancellation within 24 hours of the deadline, which was missed due to a time-zone discrepancy. While the front desk staff on the phone were consistently professional and friendly, management was entirely unavailable. Despite my making numerous attempts to reach them via phone and email, management never responded to me, leaving the front desk staff to pass the message along without resolution. Expedia ultimately declined the refund because hotel management insisted on enforcing a strict non-refundable policy. Working in tourism and hospitality myself, I respect established policies—but I also value standard customer service and reasonable compromise. The total lack of direct communication and refusal to offer even a partial credit was extremely disappointing. Future guests should be aware of this strict stance. I still hope management will reconsider and offer a refund. As a side note from visiting the property in person: while I didn't see the individual rooms, the lobby is quite unappealing, with harsh fluorescent lighting that feels more like a doctor's office than a hotel.

Weird how this has got such good reviews. The location is good but the room shabby with dull lighting, weird electrics, and a bed so hard it was difficult to sleep. Add two steep flights of a slanting staircase and it really is not comfortable. All this at enormous (even for Venice) cost.

Structure that completely exceeded expectations in virtually every area in relation to the price paid. The common rooms that welcomed us are in perfect Venetian style, full of charm and personality, as well as the friendly hotel staff. The real surprise was the room allocated to us that impressed us since we opened the door for the space, the ceiling height, the size of the bed, the decorations and the lighting. The bathroom maybe a little small but well laid out and well cleaned. Also good soundproofing and tranquility of the location in the evening, which is definitely necessary after a day in Venice with all the sensory stimuli that accumulate during the day. The hearty and good breakfast in a cozy and elegant room overlooking the square in turn elegant large but not chaotic. In short, our experience with this structure was higher than expected and we were very pleased
