Residenza Ae Ostreghe

Totally can't recommend this place. Awful conditions, impolite service. Only money interest them and any respect to the guests. Summaring visiting over 30 countries and Italy over 10 times - it's my worse experience.

Chose this hotel based on the reviews and was some what disappointed.Yes it was a spacious room with good clean facilities but it had a constant clicking noise from the plumbing or heating, which took a bit of getting used to, no good if you are a light sleeper. No coffee or tea making facilities in the room and was denied such when asked for. Yes the breakfast was very good but very crowded and I don't like eating of a coffee table Two out of the three mornings had to stand and wait for a table with little or no attention. The 200 meter walk was a little bit of a nuisance particularly in 6 degree temperature. The bed was so hard it was a toss up between it and the marble floor on which to sleep on. I think there would be better hotels for the money

The residence was well-situated for visits of the brave to the enormously-commercialized Piazza San Marco. It was also well-situated for visits across the Academia bridge to more civilized portions of Venice. The breakfasts provided by Hotel La Spada, which manages the property, were as good as can be had in the area and increased the value of the rental. There were a few burned-out bulbs in a ceiling fixture, but the room and bath were otherwise very lovely in a carefully converted residence. Hotel (La Spada) staff were exceptional in providing for our needs. Very close to the Giglio Vaporetta stop.
