Hotel Du Lac

Like every year, we spent our summer vacation here and booked directly for the following year. The location is unbeatable! You can go mountain biking, hiking, climbing, play padel tennis, fish, dive, go boating, e-foiling, kite surfing, swim, jog, play tennis on the hotel's own court, etc., in the immediate vicinity. The typical restaurants in the area are without exception better than any Italian restaurant in Germany. But the dinner at the hotel is also excellent, even though the desserts have been better before. The number of regular guests you meet here every year speaks for itself!

Absolutely not recommended. I don't even know where to start. Despite prior coordination with the hotel, we could not have dinner at the hotel. This led to us, as a family, having to look for a local place after a nearly 12-hour journey, which unfortunately turned out to be difficult, as there was no availability without a reservation. The breakfast is absolutely not recommended. On several days, there were no glasses for drinks, no egg dishes, and no croissants. In addition, there was an extremely unfriendly waiter (little hair and quite pale). A multitude of flies and fruit flies were flying around the remaining food. The rolls were rock-hard every day. Furthermore, the breakfast cafe is open until midnight, which made it impossible for our children to get restful sleep at times. Unfortunately, the air conditioning did not work fully either, even with temperatures reaching 40 degrees at times. There were ants in the room and insufficient towels. The indoor pool urgently needs to be modernized. It looks like it's from 30 - 40 years ago. The whole experience ended up costing us over 4000 euros for 8 nights. When we checked out one night early, there was no great surprise, and nobody cared why that happened at all. The whole thing was booked through Booking. To this day, there has been no response to my multiple complaints via Booking! How the 4-star superior rating was awarded is a mystery to me to this day. I cannot recommend that families stay there under any circumstances. The only good thing was the hotel's own beach. So, absolutely no recommendation!

Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Luigi, who showed us the way to the garage, explained the wellness options, breakfast at Café Peler, etc., and accompanied us to our room (our request for a room on the 4th floor was fulfilled - we had communicated this in advance via email). The room was very special, very cozy, very clean, and had a beautiful view from the balcony! The breakfast - we have never had such a wonderful breakfast in any other hotel! The selection of food was fantastic! There is simply everything one could desire! Fresh fruit, salmon, various hams and sausages, different cheeses, various breads and rolls, Prosecco.... I could list even more❣ Breakfast right by the lake!It doesn't get any better than this! The room was perfect❣ The garden - breathtakingly beautiful with enough loungers for all guests❣ The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful❣It doesn't get any better than this! The massage was extremely pleasant❣It doesn't get any better than this! We would love to come back 🫶It doesn't get any better than this!
