We spent 2 nights at the Hotel Mastino as part of a getaway to attend a performance of Aida at the Verona Arena. The hotel is ideally located for exploring the city on foot and is a 5-minute walk from the arena. As for parking, the hotel's was full when we booked 3 months in advance; we were able to book the "SABA Arena" online without any problem, which is a 5-minute walk from the hotel and very accessible.
We had requested a quiet room, and we got it (502). The room is not huge (standard room) but well-equipped and likely recently renovated: Very efficient A/C, safe, large bed, minibar... The bathroom is also recent with a beautiful walk-in shower. It is only missing a hook or 2 to hang towels and a small shelf to store toiletries... too bad..
The welcome at the reception is very friendly.
The breakfast (included) is very good, (hot and cold savory items, fresh fruit, pastries...) with even 3 coffee machines... which is rare in most hotels...
Excellent value for money.
Deserves 4 stars.
I recommend it!

Well-located hotel just a few steps from the arenas. Pleasant welcome. Clean room but poorly soundproofed. Decent and varied breakfast.

I chose this hotel for its strategic location, at the entrance of the historic center (the Arena is just around the corner) and a fifteen-minute walk from the Porta Nuova train station.
For the rest, it is a respectable three-star hotel, with rather small and essential rooms, but clean and well-maintained.
Good and well-stocked breakfasts, staff always available, and overall, a good quality-price ratio.
A good logistical choice for visiting Verona.
