Truly Verona

We stayed at Cittadella 16. Tidy, clean, very convenient, and with excellent service via WhatsApp.

Delle Erbe Suits. The room was absolutely awful. It was unbearably hot and the air conditioning was completely useless. On the first night it didn’t work at all, and on the second night it made a ridiculous amount of noise but still didn’t cool the room. We were uncomfortable for the entire stay. The worst part, though, was the cleanliness. The bathroom was disgusting. There were long brown hairs left in the bath and the toothbrush holder was so filthy that a pathology department would probably have had a field day with it. It was genuinely revolting. The coffee machine was impossible to use because the water tank was filthy and full of bits of limescale. Even more ridiculous, there was only one socket for both the coffee machine and the fridge, so the fridge had been left unplugged. You literally had to choose which appliance you wanted to use. The whole setup felt cheap, badly thought out and poorly maintained. There was also basically only one practical plug available for charging our phones, and even the wardrobe had those thin metal dry-cleaning hangers instead of proper hangers. Everything about the room gave the impression that the absolute minimum effort and money had been spent on it. For the price, this was completely unacceptable. Between the unbearable heat, the noisy and useless air conditioning, the filthy bathroom, the disgusting limescale-filled coffee machine, the unplugged fridge and the general lack of maintenance, the whole stay was miserable. I would never stay here again and I certainly would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Be careful when booking. Piazza Cittadella 16 was terrible. Room nothing like those advertised. View when I moved the window dressing back was disgusting. Offered a different place the next day but it was further out and didn’t look safe at night. So disappointed because my children thought they’d booked somewhere nice for my 60th. Thank goodness it was only 2 nights before going onto a superb hotel in Lake Garda. Video won’t load of the disgrace outside of window.
