I REALLY wanted to like this place. Coming from The Bahamas where it's always nice to visit another Caribbean country and enjoy their culture – I was so excited! But our experience was far from that. The check-in process and first day wasn't the best and that kinda ruined the entire trip for us, I’ll tell you why. My boyfriend and I along with some friends got in from a very long ride from Kingston. We got there and the bellman promptly helped us with our bags, everyone at the FD seemed so nice and welcoming even giving us a welcome drink (which was amazing btw). Checked in and went to the room which was not an ocean view (what we booked) and when we asked about it, we were told "the hotel is full and only this room type was available". It faced the parking lot and the top of a roof with pipes, was dirty with obvious dirt marks. It sucked. I complained to FO again and that was when the entire service did a complete 180 turn. From then on it seemed like the FD team wasn't caring at all. Only a handful of staff really tried to make things right. The food wasn't the best - but it's an all-inclusive so eh. The cups and plates looked as if they were rinsed off and not properly washed. But the icing on the cake for us was our final night dinner at The Jade Samurai. It was a party of 5 and we had 2 guests running late. Our Reservation was at 7 pm. I told the chef this and his response was "I don't care we have to get started". Keep in mind it was only 6:50 and he was really pushing us to get started. The 2 guests arrived at 7 pm on the dot and the chef was sucking his teeth straight through and not really being friendly. It was a horrible experience to say the least + the food wasn’t even good! Long story short this was the nail in the coffin for me to never return to Jamaica lol. And if I do, I’ll be staying at Sandal’s NOT HERE.

Found it to be a small resort, not in the same class as the Riu, Barcelos others even though this costed as much. The restaurants (Grill) seemed like a small shack. Staff was very friendly, had some excellent events in the evening. But overall we felt we overpaid.

We spent 10 fabulous days at the resort. Stayed in the diamond suite and wanted for nothing. The various restaurants on site provided a different choice for dinner every night. The staff was excellent and was always there to help. The resort had activities every day and something new each night. The property was well maintained and was nice to stroll with my new bride. We went off property every other day for horseback ridding, atv tour and exotic wildlife trip along with exploring some caves. We also spent one day at Dunes River Falls(highly recommend) and another day at the bobsled/zip line tour. Everyone was very friendly at the tourists sites but we never went off property alone being our first time to the island. It was not the most expensive place in Jamaica but we really enjoyed our stay!!
