KAMENOI HOTEL AKITA YUZE

I stayed in the Japanese-style room on the third floor. Both of us were comfortable in a room big enough. It's in the mountains, so cell phone signals are pretty weak. Fortunately, there was no trouble as there was free Wi-Fi in the hotel. There was a landscaped space on the side of the window for desk work and the height was just right. Dinner is a kaiseki dish of Akita nishikigyu beef and Hachimantai pork grilled on a ceramic plate and kiritanpopo hot pot. Both yakiniku and kiritan-dandelion are excellent. The night-singing shaved noodles before bathing were also delicious. Breakfast is buffet style. A wide variety of menu items. Akita's specialties are lined up, and the local flavors are rich and delicious. Morning curry and miso soup with junsai were also delicious. The public baths are about 100 meters long. The large Akita fuki and colorful Japanese umbrellas seen from the aisle are impressive. The large public bath and open-air bath were also large, so I could take a relaxing bath. The water was not very slimy, but my whole body remained warm after the bath, and I was exhausted.

The hotel is sufficiently run by a very helpful and friendly staffs, despite having difficulties in English, which is the best of the hotel. The hotel shown its age and the room need to be renovated. But it was a pleasant stay with big room and well-equipped. Yuze is a very quiet valley in Akita and travel by car is the most comfortable way to get to and around.
