Location of the hotel is right next to the gondola and that is the ONLY thing this hotel has going for it. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel staff and rental staff are rude and inflexible. The free buffet is disgusting and unhygienic. The beds are rock hard, the rooms are very dated, the pillows are nearly no existent. I was unwell and asked for a late check out of 1pm and was told absolutely NO. There is no bar where you can go and relax and have a quiet beverage or snack. The coffee shop should have opened at 3pm and they wandered in and opened significantly after that. They want 1800 yen for 1hr on the billiards room, it should be free. The ski hire staff have no idea and don't know their mountain. They suggested I hire a set of standard carve skis with an underfoot measurement for your standard groomer in AUS, it is power out there and you require a power ski 🎿 NFI. I would suggest hiring from a reputable company and bringing them with you. I returned my skis at 8.30am due to being unwell, I had only hired them at 4.00pm the day before (minutes before they closed at 4pm) and they refused a refund or partial refund, no flexibility at all.....NEVER AGAIN. I will never recommend this place nor the accomodation nor the ski hire. Be wary 😟

I stayed for skiing. Ski lockers and ski slopes are connected directly, which is very convenient If you want to rent skis, it was a little inconvenient because the hotel does not have a rental shop and you have to use the rental shop on the ground floor of the gondola boarding area Ski lockers are available until 17:00 the day before check out, and after that, you'll have to bring your skis into the room or leave them in the cloakroom. Cloaks are not staff-based and you will be asking the front desk to take care of them by phone at the entrance of the cloakroom, so I think you should allow extra time There were two laundromats. The usage fee was 2,000 yen / time It may be better to be able to do less washing because there are many things in use The hot spring was kept clean and I was able to use it comfortably

Lesser known with smaller crowds than Niseko but equal snow conditions is Aomori Spring Ski Resort. We had a wonderful time at the Rockwood Hotel which is ski in/out of the slopes. Highlights were: - within 1 hour from Aomori Airport arrival you can be skiing - friendly international staff. Javyn is fluent in English and attends to all your needs - challenging terrain. Our trail guide Kaitlyn (USA Olympic team) took us on amazing runs - on-premise natural onsen perfect for apres-ski If you don't want to deal with the crowds and logistic challenges of Niseko, highly recommend Aomori Springs/Rockwood.
