If you renovate a little more, it is a wasteful hotel. The carpets in the hallways are covered in stains of age, the smell is characteristic of old buildings, the air conditioning in the rooms rumbles when the old dial is turned on, and the bathrooms should be renovated to prevent mold and other clutter. The front desk was a response to a young woman's quick smile, but others,

I used to adore this hotel. I stayed in this hotel as recent as from 19th to 20th March and everything was fine. Please read my review in Agoda. Then again today, 25th March 2025, upon arrival at the hotel 3.5 hours ahead of the 2pm check in time, I was advised there would be 1980yen surcharge for every hour in advance of the scheduled 2pm check in time. That's perfectly fine and I chose to go for a walk and lunch before returning to check in. Upon returning at 145pm, I sat down for 5 mins before approaching the counter and was told it was still not quite 2pm!!!!!. I asked if there could be some flexibility knowing the room would be have been ready. She said no and told me this is Japanese!!!!. Being a frequent world traveller to many different countries, this is just plain nonsense and even felt racist. I hope the management of this hotel will see this review and start thinking if this is really Japanese and if this is going to be the rigid rule. As far as I am concerned, this is my final stay here.

Have been coming to this hotel for years and was very excited to stay here due to the usual excellent hospitality of staff and location. Checked out 24/02 and was refused a bottle of water after asking from reception staff who refused stating they are only given at checkin or I should pay. Can the hotel really not afford to give a bottle of "free" water? Not a pleasant experience.
