Hotel Mystays Ueno East is located in a quiet neighborhood while still being very central. It's only a few minutes' walk to Ueno Station, making it easy to explore Tokyo. There are also plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, and shopping areas nearby, so everything you need is within easy reach. One thing I really appreciated was the range of complimentary toiletries. The hotel provides not only the usual essentials but also a great selection of skincare products, which was a nice touch. The only downside was the late check-in time of 6:00 PM. However, we worked around it by spending the day sightseeing before returning to check in, so it wasn't a major issue. Another minor inconvenience was that, despite there being three guests in our room, we had to repeatedly ask for an extra set of towels each day. The room was small, which is typical for Tokyo hotels, but it was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Considering the location, amenities, and overall experience, I found it to be excellent value for money and would happily stay here again

Our stay at this hotel was quite disappointed -There is no ramp at the hotel entrance for luggage or wheelchair access. Since each guest typically has two suitcases, carrying them up and down the stairs during check-in and check-out was extremely inconvenient. -The hotel does not have laundry room. Guests have to take their clothes to another hotel located behind this one. There is no internal access between the two buildings, so you have to carry your laundry outside and walk around the block to get there. -The front desk staff were unprofessional, unfriendly, and not welcoming. We borrowed a plug adapter in morning, and by noon, they asked if we were finished using it yet :) The next day, we borrowed it again, and they once again reminded us to return it. Normally other hotels just asked you to return it before your check out. I finally said “Don't you think I need it to charge my devices every day?” Only then they realized the inconvenience and agreed to let us keep it until check-out. -The hotel also does not have a luggage bench scale. When I asked for their support, they gave me a hand scale instead. This is especially inconvenient for solo female travelers. And once again, they seemed eager to get it back the moment they saw me at the lobby-as if it were the hotel’s only luggage scale. It honestly felt unnecessarily stingy. -The room was not cleaned upon arrival. There was hair left on the bed sheets, and the bathroom had multiple signs of damage. Overall, the bathroom was old, worn out, and below the standard I would expect from a hotel in Tokyo. I have attached photos for reference.

BLACK MOLD IN THE ROOM... DON'T STAY HERE. I booked this hotel for my granddaughter, using Expedia, because of the rating. She got to the room and there was black mold on the ceiling near the bathroom and clearly the room was not cleaned well. Her boyfriend (knowing my granddaughter's sensitivity to mold) told her they would need to leave and go to another hotel. Trying to get a refund is not happening. Expedia is NOT HELPING and I am very discouraged with Expedia and the ratings of the hotels. I did some research and SUPPOSEDLY Expedia has direct relationships with many of the hotels they list.
