Kyukamura Setouchitoyo

It's like an inn where the locals stay overnight on a Viking course. The rooms and public baths had a good view, and no particularly noticeable stains were visible in the building. For dinner, I opted for a kaiseki meal, but the sashimi was all farmed and greasy, and the steak was not as impressively marbled. You shouldn't expect food to taste or be treated.

I stayed here looking for accommodation with a good view of the sea. It was the best view from the room and the terrace. The entire facility was well maintained, including the rooms where the facility was renovated, and it was pleasant to use. I think all the rooms have a good view of the sea, but this time it was on the 5th floor, so I could see the distant island especially well and the sunrise around 5am. The room was arranged in an easy-to-use manner, such as a sink, and there were baskets of small items and slipper clips to take to the bathhouse, giving a sense of meticulous attention. The view from the open-air bath was good, although the quality of the bath and the spring were quite normal. The food, dinner and breakfast were delicious, especially the bonito nigiri, which was more like Toro than the Suma sashimi I caught before. The grilled pork bowl in the morning was also good. This time, we arrived early before check-in because we had elderly parents with us, but the staff came outside and treated us with their luggage, restaurants, and kiosks. The inn has the best view of the Kanada Sea, but you can also climb the nearby observatory and triangulation point to get a more amazing view. There seems to be a morning walk. Recommended for leisurely travel.

They have pick up and off service from/to Niugawa station even though the time is limited. You can enjou good view of both Seto inner sea and Ishizuchi Mountain(the highest moutain in the western part of Japan). I stayed 4 Kyukamura incuding this one and all of them were so good. They are Ibusuki, Kesennuma Oshima, Iwate Amihari Onsen and this one.
