We stayed on the Hokuriku tour. Management has changed and the name of the hotel has changed to Mikuni Ocean Resort & Hotel. It was a late night arrival, so it was outside of opening hours, but there was a free drink bar in the lobby, and they even had draft beer and wine until 6pm. The lobby is gorgeous with dolls of Mikuni Matsuri floats, but the rooms look like simple business hotels. There is also a bath with a unit bath, but because it is Tojinbo Onsen, there is a large public bath, which is quite large, and the bath with tatami mats is also interesting. Breakfast is simple, but similar buffet restaurants seem to include good ingredients. Only Heshiko Chazuke made me feel like I was traveling in Hokuriku Wakasa Bay.

I stayed here as part of a group trip. The soba noodles at dinner were delicious. After dinner, I was satisfied with the free drinks and habutae mochi I had in the lobby. The room was old and the bath in the room smelled of mold so I didn't use it. But there is a hot spring so I don't think it's usually a problem. The morning breakfast buffet had delicious chazuke so I recommend it. The hotel is surrounded by residential areas and temples, and the nearest convenience store is far away. I think it's just right to watch the sunset, take a bath in the hot spring, go to bed early, and leave early the next morning.

We stayed for two nights in this Hotel, the staff were lovely, attentive and kind. The Hotel is very clean and modern. The Onsen is a very nice place to relax. Our room had a lovely view towards the sea. You can rent bikes from the hotel and ride to Sunset beach, I swam in the sea (Oct) and it was still warm. It's a surf beach and I think you can rent boards locally....maybe next time! Upon departure the manager presented us with a gift which was very thoughtful. Breakfast is a Japanese style buffet which was nice. The Hotel provides a minibus service to the local train station which is very useful. All in all, 10/10. If we come back I would defiantly stay here again.
