The literal translations of "Garden Palace" and "Garden Palace" are: Garden = Garden Palace = Palace and Pavilion In other words, "Palace-like Hall with Garden" Japan Private School Promotion and Mutual Aid Corporation , originally started as a welfare facility for faculty and staff of private school, but it is open to the general public. The Garden Palace in Fukuoka is located in Tenjin, a relatively quiet environment close to the downtown area, with plenty of meeting rooms and banquet halls. It takes about 8 minutes from Tenjin Subway Station on foot. Simmons beds are used in all Western-style rooms, and breakfasts using ingredients from Kyushu are popular It is also close to Fukuoka Castle (Maizuru Park) and the Nagahama area, and is located in the northeastern part of the former Fukuoka Castle town. The hotel has a reputation not only for tourists but also for business travelers because it is a slightly more calm location than the center of Tenjin. Fukuoka Garden Palace is located on the north side of Tenjin, close to Nagahama and the mouth of the Naka River. Fukuoka Airport ↓(Approximately 11 minutes by subway) Hakata Station ↓ Nakasu ↓ Tenjin ↓ Fukuoka Garden Palace ↓ Nagahama Market ↓ Hakata Bay Distance from the rest of the country Hakata Station About 3km About 5 minutes to Tenjin station by subway Fukuoka Airport About 6km About 11 minutes to Tenjin station by subway Nakasu 15 to 20 minutes walk Nakasu when crossing the Naka River Nagahama Fresh Fish Market About 10 minutes on foot The heart of the fish market in Fukuoka Relationship between the Kuroda family and Fukuoka Castle The area around Fukuoka Garden Palace was the castle town of Fukuoka Castle built by Kuroda Nagamasa during the Edo period. Kuroda Nagamasa built the castle from around 1601, when he posted a comment on Fukuoka Castle. Back then, Samurai Town → Fukuoka Merchant's Town → Hakata and develop as Today’s Tenjin was then the outer edge of the castle town. Relations with Nagahama Nagahama has always been a port city of Hakata Bay. In the Edo period Rice, fish and salt were brought there. The current Nagahama Market was developed after the war, but the history of the area's use as a port dates back to the Kuroda Domain. Origin of the name Tenjin The Tenjin district where the hotel is located is Mizukagami Tenman-gū It comes from. Sugawara no Michizane is enshrined here. In the past, this area was called "Tenjin-cho", and that is how it is today. Fukuoka and Hakata were actually two different towns Kuroda Nagamasa named the castle town "Fukuoka" after his hometown of Bizen Province. On the other hand, Hakata = Old Merchant Town Fukuoka = Samurai Town It was. So even now. Hakata Station Hakata Port is 'Hakata' Fukuoka Castle Fukuoka Prefecture Fukuoka is 'Fukuoka' The name remains. Fukuoka Garden Palace is located close to the boundary of the city, and you can feel the history of both the castle town of Fukuoka and the commercial capital of Hakata. It is a place where you can enjoy the history and food culture of Fukuoka together, especially since you can go to the ruins of Fukuoka Castle, Nagahama Market and Nakasu in about 20 minutes on foot. The present Fukuoka Garden Palace (Chiyo, Hakata-ku) is located near the northern edge of what is considered the central region of ancient Nakoku (岴国, Nanokuni). In the surrounding area, Hie Naka Sites Naka Sites Yoshitake Takagi Site Sukuokamoto Site Large settlements and royal tombs of the Yayoi period are concentrated here. In particular, the Naka Ruins are thought to have become influential stronghold settlements on the Fukuoka Plain in the mid-Yayoi period and formed the heart of the Nakoku kingdom. Ancient ruins have also been found in the Chiyo area itself, where the Fukuoka Garden Palace is located, and nearby are Hakozaki-gū Hakata Sites It has been an important location for transportation and ports since ancient times. To simplify the positioning relationship, Hakata Bay │ Chiyo (Fukuoka Garden Palace) │ Hakata │ Hie Site │ Naka Site │ Sukuokamoto ruins (the tomb of the King of the Naku) above the north-south axis. Therefore, while it is not possible to say that the location of Fukuoka Garden Palace itself was the royal capital of the country, it is considered highly possible that it was part of an important political and trading area of the country. Furthermore, among history lovers, The center of Nakoku = Kasuga, Ono-jo Castle, and Naka area The gateway to Hakata Bay, Chiyo and Hakata Diplomatic Port = Hakata Bayshore This is a common view. Interestingly, within walking distance of the Fukuoka Garden Palace, there are many areas that are thought to have been involved in ancient diplomacy and trade, and it is possible that the people of Nakoku 2000 years ago traveled to and from almost the same place.

Staid at the Hotel Fukuoka Garden Palace for business purposes. Nice location, close to Tenjin, where you can find many shops and restaurants. The staff were very nice and caring, and even let me use their refrigerator (I bought some spicy mentaiko). What I was surprised the most was the spacious room that I was given. I have travelled many times to Japan, and usually the hotel rooms are small and cramped (I say this even though I am only 170 cm tall). The size of the room was large enough so that I could leave my two pieces of luggage open on the floor, and still walk around comfortably. The wifi worked fine as well. I would say very good value for the money.

Really good service. The breakfast buffet had traditional food and western food. The western food was very good. The hotel rooms were very nice and quiet. The hotel is also close to the train station. The train station has some really nice places to eat.
