Hakata Green Hotel 2

After walking for the whole day, it's a relief to stay at this hotel. It's just outside one of the entrances of the hakata mall. We didn't manage to use the facilities as it was just for a night before leaving for the airport early in the morning. Our twin room with extra bed was ok except that the wear and tear can be seen. Receptionist was friendly and could speak English when we checked in. She also booked a taxi for us to the airport as we had to leave early the next morning. Taxi fare was only 1240yen from the hotel. Location is simply the best. Near the exit to the hotel is a supermarket where you can buy your souvenirs and there are many izakaya on the way out too. It's a pity we could not utilize the amenities in the room due to our short stay.

When you search and look for this Hotel on google map, you may think it is about 10 minutes walk from the Hakata station as many others reviewed. In fact, it’s situated just outside of Hakata station, and is about 1-2 minutes walk only. Very convenient to shopping, trains, subways, foods, markets, sightseeing, etc. Best yet, it’s affordable compared to other nearby hotels. Staffs are very friendly and helpful and sufficient for English communication as well. Room for twin bed is actually small; that’s how it is in Japan mostly unless you willing to pay for 5-star hotels. Basically, you just need a decent place to rest after spending a whole day exploring around the city and nearby vincinities. One last thing, Hakata Green Hotel 2 and Hakata Green Hotel 1 are away from each other just by few steps, not as far as thought when looking on google map.

This hotel is basically right next to Hakata Station making transport around the city extremely convenient. My room was small, but clean and comfortable. The hotel facilities are a bit on the older side but are still well-maintained. The staff at the front desk had some limited English. However they were friendly and able to answer general inquiries. Being that the hotel is located next to the station you can hear the trains regularly passing by if you get a room facing the tracks as I did. Though, with the window closed the noise isn't too loud. You can hear people walking in the hallway outside the rooms as there is no sound insulation on the door. Overall I was pleased with my stay at this hotel.
