ORIENTAL HOTEL FUKUOKA HAKATA STATION

We stayed in this hotel for four nights on a family vacation. It is connected directly to the Hakata Station which makes it very easy to use the Shinkansen or subway. Our initial reservation was for two nights. We later decided to stay an additional two nights ... so an additional reservation was made. That caused a bit of confusion but we got the hotel to let us stay in the same room all four nights for an additional fee (apparently one room was more expensive than the other). The room was quite small -- not completely unusual for Japan. Of course, nonetheless, the room key stopped working after two days. The breakfast at the hotel is a big buffet with a lot of options and it was an easy way to get things going in the morning. In short, we would stay here again due to its convenient location.

On arrival at Fukuoka International airport, we went to bus stop 6 or 7 to board the bus to the hotel. It is a long bus and luggages can be carried on board easily. After a short ride, the bus stopped practically outside the hotel. We accessed the second floor lobby using the escalator. It looks fairly new after renovation in 2019. Location Its location is the selling point-3 mins walk to Hakata station, underground link at B2 to the subway and taxi stand 2 mins away. Its location makes it very convenient for shopping. We could go back to hotel to deposit our shoppings before going out again. Room Twin room size is sufficient for two people to share. The sink outside the toilet makes it convenient to boil water and brush our teeth while one of us used the toilet. Breakfast The breakfast should start at 6.30 am instead of 7 am as many guests have early trains to catch. Furthermore there are so many people at breakfast so an earlier start would spread the crowd. The variety of food is wide and tasty. However the ramen counter is self-service and this puts many people off from tasting the Hakata ramen. The beef burger and scramble eggs are good. Service Generally the staff are polite and friendly except for a few of them who need to be more mindful of their attitude. Their attitudes were not becoming of this hotel. Facilities There is a gym, paid washing machines on 5th floor. The coffee machine can be used from 8 am. In the evening at 8 pm, there are free soba noodles and wines at the rooftop garden on 5th floor. We would stay at this hotel again if we go back to Fukuoka based on its convenient location. Taxi to airport costs about 1600 Yen.

The location is key of the hotel it is next to hakata station. It is very convenient to access to everything. It has mall, restaurant around the the hotel. Also you can find the AirPort Express bus stop just next to the hotel which is easy to access to international airport. Also want to highlight the breakfast which have lot of options and especially the fresh orange juice machine. The room itself is modern and clean. The staff are very polite and friendly.
