The Toyo Hotel in Fukuoka has a very good location, just minutes from Hakata Station. This makes it perfect for travelling by train or metro and you can reach many sights quickly and easily. The check-in was friendly and straightforward. The staff was helpful and professional. The rooms are typically Japanese rather small but well equipped and clean. For a city break or a couple of nights, that is quite enough. I found the breakfast particularly positive – good selection and delicious. However, it is a bit expensive. Nevertheless, overall the value for money is right, mainly because of the central location and cleanliness. Overall, a good hotel for travelers who want to stay comfortably and conveniently in Fukuoka.

Great hotel. Near Hakata station. We had a large room with two single beds. Compared to the room, the bathroom is tiny and the high step-through, to enter the bathroom, is not pleasant either. Breakfast is for the Westerner summary. FamilyMart across the street from the hotel. Hotel Toyo does not ship your suitcase to your next destination, but you can do so across the street at FamilyMart.

The price incl breakfast I recon is really low. That being said, the room is tiny but the worst part really humid/damp to an extent that the duvet is humid, explaining small spots that looks like mold. I suppose if the wallpaper was taken off, a lot of mold will be found. Staff very friendly and location superb. So very cheap but I would not return.
