The hostel is near the train and bus station and has private rooms and dormitories. There's a communal kitchen and lounge and if you stay for three or more nights you may use the washing machine for free. The staff is lovely and very helpful. My private room was very clean and spacious. Apart from the bed there was only a shelf, a small table and a chair would have been nice.

K’s villa is managed by K’s house. Level 1 being the living room, dining room, kitchen, outdoor small garden, toilet and a bath room. It’s clean and cosy and have everything that a family would need for cleaning n cooking! Washing machine and dryer together with hair dryer and amenities for cleaning and tidying yourself. The living area n dining area are well decorated with the traditional Japanese feel with a blanket heater from the table. Level 2 are the sleeping area where tatamis are set up for 4 of us. It’s good enough for 10 pax (including kids). Heaters are working well and very beautifully done up. There is also a toilet at this level. Totally awesome if you travel in a big group or family.

No frill, basic hotel a stone throw from takayama main bus terminal. It was a hostel with private rooms. We stayed 3 nights in a private room. Very basic but does the job. There is a communal kitchen where u can cook your own food. Only slightly troublesome thing was you need to remove your shoes when you enter the place. For the great location, it is worth a stay.
