Hotel Route-Inn Asahikawa Ekimae Ichijodori

The front desk staff and parking attendant were good. This time I used a room with a double bed, but the room seems a little cramped, so I'll use a twin room next.

I make Reservations for stable quality hotel chains wherever I go, but among them, Directions Inn has a large public bath and no work to fill the unit bath with hot water, so I can soak myself in the tub to warm myself up, and there is not too much or too little breakfast buffet, so when I decide to go on a business trip, I first open the website to check availability. I Reservation a single room with my usual image, checked into the hotel, opened the door to the room, and found it surprisingly small. I don't even have a carry-on-size suitcase to put in. (I brought a medium-sized suitcase, so I didn't have a place. Even though it is a politely small room, there is something like a large folding chair in the hallway in front of the unit bath for suitcases, and the table prevents suitcases from passing through. Getting in and out of the room with a suitcase was a struggle. The size of this room is improbable in Asahikawa, which has many tourists as well as business travelers and a high suitcase rate for vacationers. There are no lockers in my room, so I guess I'm limited to an overnight business trip in a single carry-on-size suitcase. I remember staying in the past in a room the same size as the Directions Inn in another district - the type with a TV on the desk/not the latest island type desk - and I looked into it and found a semi-double room. If you have a lot of luggage, do you mean go towards the Directions Inn in front of the station (the downside is that this is a bit far from downtown and the high brand so the room charge is slightly higher)

Slightly tatty appearance, good location close to the station and AEON mall. Very friendly check-in, was given a free vending machine token and allowed to check-in 10 mins early when the room was ready. Breakfast was included - I was given coupons dated for each day but they were never checked. Similar to Toyoko inn etc, ie hot rice and lukewarm everything else.. No keycards here, it's an old-skool key with a large fob (which activates the electricity in the room). Fridge one of those that you have to switch on, but there was no indication on the switch as to the "on" position (cue crawling on floor listening for the compressor). The "on" is when the upper half of the switch is depressed, ie the opposite to how it is in the UK. Other places have a switch that lights up when on. The bedclothes had what looked like coffee stains on them, and the bed itself was very hard, like sleeping on a springy board of plywood. I prefer a firm bed but this might be too much for some. So, was ok, but Asahikawa seems to be a very expensive town for hotels and this was one of the cheapest I could find, but was way way more expensive than APA hotels in other towns that I've stayed at. Probably some event on that weekend perhaps...
