Lake Akan Tsuruga Wings

A beautiful complex for an extremely relaxing stay in the Lake Akan area! The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with either a nice view of the mountains or overlooking the lake. The hotel complex has 3 onsens located in different parts of the building for you to explore, each with its own 'theme' and unique charm. The opening times for each onsen changes daily so be sure to read the hotel manual carefully. The buffet breakfast and dinner that comes with the room is enough to make the whole experience worth it. Meals are buffets style, served in a large dining hall with international cuisines ranging from Japanese, Western to even Chinese and Indian. The pier where you can board the ferry to visit the Marimo conservation centre in Lake Akan is also just a simple 2 minutes walk from the back of the hotel. I highly recommend this place especially if you plan on stopping for a couple of nights in Lake Akan!

The parking is 500 m away . You drop off the luggage and park and there is a shuttle bus that brings you back to hotel . Since the two hotels merge , the checking is at at the no Sato side . The rooms have been partially renovated and the sofa covers changed since they merged . Beds were comfortable . A jug of water was provided in the fridge with some beans and nuts . The best part of the hotels are the onsens and the food . Greet dinner with plenty of sashimi , salad bar, Chinese section , even Indian nan and curry . Wonderful breakfast as well with the best chirashi Don with loads of salmon roe . The restaurant is at the no sato side level 2 . Onsens were wonderful . This hotel definitely has one of the best onsens in Hokkaido. Things to do include visiting the row of wood craft shops and Lawson opposite the street , Ainu village , and a light show at night costing 3000 yen. Overall a wonderful stay - will definitely return.

Gigantic hotel by the lake. I feel excellent. Very large rooms: it is worth taking the ones with a lake view. Buffet to die for both variety and quantity. The quality, knowing how to choose, is very good both for breakfast and dinner (which we recommend having in the hotel). A little expensive but worth it
