This was our second visit to this property since our first experience in 2017. This place continues to be an amazing property with exemplary service and meals. Everything was first class, from the moment you drive up. The staff was courteous, efficient with an attitude to make your stay memorable. The Onsen was amazing as well as the kaiseki dinner and the breakfast. Given their price point (~$550/nt), I would regard this property one of the best values and hidden gems in Japan.

Very poor handling of food allergy and unacceptable food quality. I informed the hotel in advance by email that I do not eat fish. Instead of preparing a proper alternative, they simply removed the fish and gave me nothing equivalent. For a sashimi dish (fish, prawn, scallop), they replaced it with cheap spaghetti, which is completely inappropriate. Staff even argued that scallops and prawns are “fish,” showing a serious lack of knowledge and professionalism. We spent over 30 minutes discussing this, and no proper solution was provided. I have stayed at many onsen hotels, and they always take good care of dietary needs—this is the worst experience I’ve had. Even worse, one beef dish was completely inedible. The meat was so tough like rubber—no one in my family could chew it, and we couldn’t even tear it apart by hand.(see the picture) For over 90,000 yen per night including dinner, this is absolutely unacceptable. Very bad service and horrible food quality. 今回、夕食付きで1泊9万円以上の温泉宿に宿泊しましたが、非常に残念な経験となりました。事前にメールで「魚を食べない」と明確に伝えていましたが、その対応が非常に不十分でした。魚料理はただ単に抜かれただけで、代替の料理は用意されていませんでした。例えば、本来は魚・海老・帆立の刺身盛り合わせが提供されるはずでしたが、代わりに出てきたのは安っぽいスパゲッティでした。懐石料理としては全く不適切で、大変驚きました。さらに、スタッフは「帆立や海老も魚です」と主張し、基本的な食材の理解にも疑問を感じました。この件について30分以上話し合いましたが、納得できる解決策は提示されませんでした。これまで多くの温泉宿に宿泊してきましたが、通常は食事制限にも丁寧に対応していただけるため、今回の対応は非常に残念です。さらに、提供された牛肉料理の質も非常に低く、まるでゴムのように硬く、家族全員が噛み切ることができず、手でも裂けないほどでした。このような料理が提供されること自体、信じられません。価格に見合わないサービスと料理の質であり、総合的に非常に不満の残る滞在でした。

"Love our stay.” The room was impeccably clean, serene, and beautifully appointed, providing the perfect traditional atmosphere. The highlight, beyond the relaxing onsen itself, was the incredible food—each meal was a masterpiece of kaiseki cuisine, using fresh, local ingredients. The attention to detail and gracious service made our stay truly special. We left feeling completely rejuvenated and can't wait to return."
